Hunderfossen Familiepark gears up for new Rally Flåklypa media dark ride

Immersive attraction to bring Norway's most popular IP alive

Brussels, 21 April 2026 - As snow melts away in the Norwegian mountains, BoldMove reports that the installation of its newest media dark ride in Hunderfossen Familiepark is on track for opening this June. Rally Flåklypa will complete the themed area around Norway's famous inventor Reodor Felgen and his friends, featured in a series of successful animation movies. Park guests can engage this summer in an exciting race from Paris to the Pyramids, created through a combination of smart technologies, immersive storytelling and 3D decoration.

Synchronized Media & Vehicle Movements

Together with the park's technical team the installations are firming up to accommodate the new Rogue Rides trackless ride system and the final media footage from Qvisten Animation. Fitting all elements in an existing building on a rather compact space requires smart and practical moves like cutting views and working with perspectives from different angles. However, a small space is also grateful for theming as it easily fills up and feels more intimate.

A fully automated preshow will guide guests through the queue line, with the main characters informing them of the rally mission. Il Tempo Gigante race car, recently revealed at Oslo airport, can be admired from different sides during the ride experience.

To make the ride as immersive as possible and enhance the excitement, technologies like projection and special effects are being used, with all equipment well hidden from the visitors. Media and vehicle movements are fully synchronized into a compelling experience. Two test installations with the actual ceiling-high screens, media and vehicles have allowed the team to finetune trajectories and media animation. BoldMove's new Kamino show control system drives vehicles, AV, special effects and media to run a seamless show.

We are excited to see the attraction come together after all the preparations and construction work. This is one of our biggest investments since the park opened in 1984, and will strengthen our position as the Fairytale park. The combination of Norway's strongest IP, funny new stories that come to life, and state-of-the-art technology will without doubt amaze our guests! — Hogne Høstmælingen, Park Director at Hunderfossen Familiepark.

With a high level of detail during architectural and theming design a convincing Flåklypa universe has been recreated. BoldMove's ride and theming design experts work hand in hand with Qvisten. Their team ensures the DNA of the IP is respected in full alignment with their media production. This results in an immersive experience with characters like Reodor addressing the visitors in preshow and during the ride to fully engage them into the story. Theming production specialist Kabuki applies special fabrication and finishing techniques across 3D decor elements and wall paintings across the building.

About Rally Flåklypa

The animation movie was released in Norway by Qvisten Animation last Christmas and features a crazy inventor named Reodor Felgen, an IP created by Kjell Aukrust. Being expelled from the village of Flåklypa for his crazy creations, Reodor wants to re-establish his status. Together with his friends, a fearless bird and a neurotic hedgehog, they sign up for the legendary Paris-Dakar rally to promote their eco-friendly fuel "Methane Rapido Potente". The fuel is based on cow-burps and cow-farts, and to prove its potential they have to win the race. Electric car mogul Ellen Busk feels threatened by their invention and sabotages their attempts. In a wild and thrilling car race through crowded city streets and hot deserts, our heroes can lose their invention, their friendship and even their lives.

About Qvisten Animation

In 1994 two guys in their early twenties started up an animation studio in Oslo, Norway. The only office space they could afford was a small, drafty attic. In Norwegian this is called a “kvistloft”, so the name Qvisten pretty much gave itself. They also had a clear vision: Qvisten should create content to captivate, activate, engage, and thrill kids. 30 years later the team is not located in an attic anymore, and two young guys have become two seasoned producers with some 90 great artists and colleagues. In 2021 Qvisten Animation established a commercial department, named XTND to extend their IP´s into all possible platforms. Working with theme parks and venues has always been a big part of their DNA, and in 2022 they were rewarded with a THEA Award together with Hunderfossen Family Park for their attraction “Reodor`s Hyper Accelerator” In 2023 Qvisten Animation started together with Rights & Brands AB, Rights & Brands Norway. It is a licensing and publishing agency bringing Scandinavian rights and brands to a global arena.
