Rally Flåklypa Awarded Best Media Dark Ride of the Year at IAAPA Expo
BoldMove receives multiple awards for attraction with trackless vehicles and reveals Manakai - Typhoon Coaster
Brussels, 1st October 2026 – IAAPA Expo Europe in London proved to be a rewarding week for BoldMove Nation, marked by an exciting new coaster reveal and many inspiring encounters on the show floor. The team celebrated multiple industry awards for its innovative media dark ride Rally Flåklypa at Hunderfossen in Norway. Together with their client of O’Gliss Park they unveiled Manakai – Typhoon Coaster, the world’s first Spinfinity Splash Coaster.
Multi-Award-Winning Dark Ride with Trackless Vehicles
One of the highlights of the week was the recognition of Rally Flåklypa, the media-based dark ride featuring Rogue Rides trackless vehicles that opened this summer at Hunderfossen Eventyrpark in Norway.
At the Park World Excellence Awards, Rally Flåklypa took home the award for Best Dark Ride or Media-Based Experience of the Year, while the Rogue Rides trackless ride system received a Highly Recommended recognition for Best Product Innovation.
Rally Flåklypa also received the European Star Award for Europe’s Best New Indoor Attractions 2026.
"The judges were hugely impressed by the ingenuity and creativity behind Rally Flåklypa. Within a space where visitors might expect to find a conventional 4D cinema, the team created an ambitious, fully immersive trackless dark ride filled with humour and magic.
The experience delivers its wow factor from the outset, with the unexpected reveal of the racing car and an ingenious transition where the caravan appears on screen before the screen lifts, allowing guests to step inside.
The judges particularly praised the precise synchronisation of the projections across multiple screens with the movement of the ride vehicles, creating a wonderfully seamless sensation of taking part in the race.

At the heart of Rally Flåklypa is a true David-versus-Goliath story: a small, determined team takes on the giants and ultimately wins the race. That story felt especially close to home in London. As a Belgian company on an international stage, BoldMove was proud to see creativity, innovation and teamwork recognised by the industry.
The attraction combines the new Rogue Rides trackless ride system with high-quality media by Qvisten Animation in an immersive tunnel, physical scenery produced by Kabuki and interactive storytelling to bring the world of Flåklypa to life. All of this was realized on a very compact space in an existing building within a limited budget.
Manakai makes Supersplash
The first day of IAAPA Expo Europe brought another major moment. Together with O’Gliss Park, BoldMove officially unveiled Manakai – Typhoon Coaster, the world’s first Spinfinity Splash Coaster, opening in 2028.
During a dedicated press conference at the BoldMove booth, the teams revealed the attraction’s name, story and scale model for the first time. Manakai brings together coaster dynamics, controlled spinning, fun water experiences, special effects and immersive theming in one shared family adventure. Its face-to-face seating puts the social experience at the heart of the ride, while the surrounding aquatic world extends the story from the queue and station all the way through the ride experience.
The reveal offered visitors a first glimpse at the new attraction and generated plenty of excitement throughout the show.
A week of inspiration and connections
Beyond the announcements and awards, the expo was above all an opportunity to reconnect with partners, clients and friends from across the attractions industry.
From individual conversations to meetings, spontaneous booth visits and a Happy Hour, the BoldMove booth was filled with familiar faces, new connections and plenty of energy throughout the week.
